LINEAX Translation Speed |
|
Resolution is defined as the smallest position value, which can be detected by the evaluating electronics as the saddle moves relative to the base. Resolution is developed by the combined effect of the scale grating pitch specified, in microns per increment, and an electronic multiplying factor determined by the counting electronics. Two configurations of electronic pulse counting systems are available in the LINEAX product. All LINEAX positioning stages share the same native analogue 1 Volt P-P encoder readhead. This highest performing output signal is directly compatible with our MICROMATIC series controllers and most other high-performance servo controllers. Lower cost and performance controllers may require direct TTL encoder input signals. LINEAX positioning stages accomplishes this with an in-line analogue to TTL pulse converter. The In-line TTL conversion is achieved with a defined interpolation factor, 5x, 50x or 100x. The frequency response of components in the TTL output linear encoder system, limit the maximum translation velocity in proportion to increasing precision. The electronic system has a maximum counting rate. With higher precision, more counts per mm, maximum speed becomes limited by counting speed not motor power. See the chart below to determine the maximum unloaded stage speed for various encoder and resolution options. |
