Quad-V Lock

Exceptional accuracy and trajectory control of our Quad Vee lock ways is a result of the use of precision tool steel needle rollers and M-V style guide rails, all hardened to Rockwell C 60-64. The stage base (normally stationary) carries two hardened steel M guides on each side. The stage saddle carries a matched set of Vee Rails, with an adjustable hardened steel pressure plate on one side is used preload the stage assembly.

 

Between each side of the stage base and body is a set of uniformly closely spaced steel needle bearings, this close spacing of the contacts provides the high load carrying capability of these quad vee lock systems.  Spacing between the needles is maintained by an anti-creep steel retainer making the guide system suitable for use in vertical applications.. As the stage body moves back and forth, the needle complement rolls along the M-V guides at half the velocity and travel of the stage body.
