LTG Features & BenefitsOur Long Travel Granite (LTG) Positioning stage series are semi-custom products engineered to achieve the performance you require. Based on a series of standard component designs for the saddle, granite base, guides, drives and encoders a unique component is developed to satisfy the requirements of your application. Using this mix and match palate of standard components with proven and characterized behaviors we can quickly deliver LTG stages precisely matched to your positioning requirements, for excellent trajectory over long travels. ApplicationsThe Long Travel Granite series is a design which integrates a linear translation stage into a granite base making it suitable for higher performance precision positioning of large payloads. The Long Travel Granite stage offers substantial cost savings since the stage itself is an integral motion system which requires a minimal support with modular frames or steel weldments. A number of demanding positioning requirements in Metrology. Laser Welding, Scanning and Laser Cutting can be addressed with the LTG Series. Extremely precise linear motion systems with a choice of guide, drive and feedback components. Standard Precision linear translations made with re-circulating mechanical bearing guides to provide well controlled flatness/straightness excursions. High Precision linear translations made with porous air bearing guides to provide exceptional flatness and straightness control. Capable of High Positioning Accuracy, due to a choice of very high resolution encoder systems, positioning repeatability measured in the nanometer range. Standard with Linear Encoder Analogue of TTL output, optional High performance Laser Scale position feedback or the LTG can be equipped with a compact robust fiber optic delivered laser interferometer system. High Velocity Translation created by powerful linear motor drive form a choice of Iron core and Iron less Linear motors. Iron less Linear motors are capable of constant velocity with no detectable velocity ripple. At modest velocity Iron core motors display velocity ripple below 0.1%.
